Edward Kabuye Mwesigye holds a Masters Degree in Development Studies from Mount Kenya University and PGD in Journalism and Communication from Makerere University. He holds a University Teaching Certificate from Carleton University-Canada. He has several other certificates in Print, Radio, TV, and Social Media from well established institutions of Deutsche Welle Akademie-Germany, ICT- The Netherlands, Makerere University-Uganda and University of Rwanda.He use computer machines in programming, Microsoft word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Adobe Premier, Adobe In Design, Adobe Page Maker, Adobe audition, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Dream Weaver, Web Design and several other computer applications especially editing videos and audio sounds for TV and Radio. He is an experienced writer and has published many articles as can be accessed at any search engine by inserting the name “Edward K. Mwesigye”. He has excellent skills in Scientific research fields with excellent communication skills. He has been part of the team of School of Journalism and Communication and the Great Lakes Media Center in conducting research and training of practicing journalists on several occasions. He is among lecturers of University of Rwanda who have produced the style guide for Rwandan media editors for print and broadcasting Media.

Research:
- February 2014-June 2014, Together with other consultants from Illuminatio Consultancy and training center (ICTC), we carried out research and establishing media performance index tools (MPIT) tools for the Media High Council of Rwanda. The tools were also tested in the pilot study.
- March, 2013, Together with other consultants, we conducted a training of local leaders and staff in using media and ICT tools to improve service delivery.
- February-March 2012- Together with other lectures, we trained practicing journalists on Media Ethics and Regulation, and production techniques in:
a. TV production Techniques
b. Radio Production Techniques
c. Online Journalism
d. Print Production techniques
- March, 2011 – March 25, 2011- Together with international and national experts, we trained practicing journalists on electoral reporting in Kigali.
- August 2012- Together with other lectures of School of Journalism and The Great Lakes Media Center, we conducted a training of Trainers for Journalism students on media literacy. This was followed by working and supervising the trainees in establishment of media clubs in 20 secondary schools in Rwanda.
- 2010: Together with consultants from National University of Rwanda in partnership with Deutsche Welle Akademie with support of the European Union, we conducted an analysis of the media Coverage of the 2010 Presidential elections.
 
Other activities:
- From 2010-up-to-date, I have worked as an academic Secretary of the School of Journalism and Communication. I have actively participated in planning, administration and management of the school.
- From 2010-2013, I have been member of the steering committee for AJPRODHO-Radio-Salus project about sensitizing youthful leaders of tomorrow
- I have always actively participated in developmental community work (Umuganda) and my advice for developmental projects at village level has always been revered
